Information We Collect
A-Speed does not require an account, login, or personal profile.
The App does not collect personally identifiable information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Home address
- Payment information
Location Data
A-Speed uses your device's GPS/location services to provide features such as:
- Real-time speed display
- RPM estimation
- Trip odometer functionality
- Nearby fuel station lookup when you request it
Location data is processed on your device and is not stored on A-Speed servers.
A-Speed does not store or upload:
- GPS routes
- Travel history
- Trip maps
- Continuous location logs
Background Location Usage
On iPhone only, optional Background Trip Tracking can use location while another app is on screen so the trip odometer can continue.
Android currently uses location while A-Speed is active and does not implement iPhone-style background trip tracking. Location permission can be changed in your device settings.
Local Device Storage
The following information may be stored locally on your device:
- App settings
- Rear-end ratio preferences
- Tire size settings
- Trip odometer values
- Fuel economy history
- Driving statistics
- Achievement/progress data
- Vehicle profiles, maintenance records, mileage logs, and compression-test results
This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to A-Speed servers.
Camera and Notifications
The optional vehicle color matcher opens the camera only when you request it. The sampled frame is processed on your device to approximate a dashboard color; A-Speed does not save or upload the image.
Optional maintenance reminders use your device's notification system. Achievement notifications are in-app preferences. These features do not require an A-Speed account or cloud service.
Anonymous Analytics
A-Speed uses optional, privacy-focused anonymous analytics through TelemetryDeck to help improve app stability and usability. This is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings.
Anonymous analytics may include:
- App version
- Screen usage
- Feature usage frequency
- Crash and stability information
- General app performance data
Analytics data is anonymous and is not used to identify individual users.
A-Speed analytics does not include:
- GPS routes
- Exact trip history
- Fuel entries
- Maintenance or compression-test records
- Vehicle names or camera images
- Personal identity information
Third-Party Services
A-Speed may interact with platform services such as:
- Apple Maps
- TestFlight
- App Store services
- Android maps apps for nearby gas searches
- Google Play services
These services are governed by Apple's, Google's, or the selected maps provider's privacy policies. A-Speed has no user-account or app-operated cloud-sync service.
Data Sharing
A-Speed does not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
A-Speed contains no third-party advertising.
Children's Privacy
A-Speed is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically as the app evolves. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above.
